Andrew Boyce

Scenic & Costume Design

Andrew is a Brooklyn based designer, working in a variety of disciplines on projects ranging from theater, opera, and live events, to film and commercial spaces. A native Californian, Andrew received his B.A. from Middlebury College with a degree in architecture, and his M.F.A. from Yale School of Drama. He has participated in the Lincoln Center Directors Lab, is a member of the Wingspace Design Collective, and is currently on the faculty of the Yale School of Drama Design Department.

In opera, Andrew has worked at the Curtis Institute of Music (Il Signor Bruschino, The Magic Flute {Sets + Costumes}, & Mamelles de Tiresias) and Des Moines Metro Opera (Don Giovanni).

Frequent collaborators include directors Kip Fagan, David Kennedy, Tea Alagic, Stephen Brackett, Meredith McDonough, Sarah Rasmussen, Loretta Greco, John Langs, Daniel Aukin, and Moritz Von Stuelpnagel.

As an assistant/associate designer, Andrew has worked with colleagues Riccardo Hernandez, Allen Moyer, Michael Yeargan, Robert Brill, David Korins, Takeshi Kata, Louisa Thompson, James Schuette, among others – on productions at most major regional theaters, Broadway, and multiple major opera companies in the U.S. and abroad.

Andrew lives in Brooklyn with his wife Adrianna, and their new baby, Atlas.
