Virtual Salon #40: Designer/Technician Collaboration: Projections

Image Description:

Bold graphic text with information about the event on a solid shape that cuts across the image. The background shows a photograph from the perspective of the tech table from the video department.  There’s a screen showing some 3D mapping and in the distance there is a focus grid on some scenic elements, such as a shelf and some boxes.

Design for live entertainment is a highly collaborative space. Some of the closest collaborations within any process exist within a department. Each is structured differently. When it comes to multimedia design, that team can include a video supervisor, content creators, programmer, assistants, associates, lead designers… the list goes on. Communication and mutual understanding is key. For multimedia technicians and designers, how does this translate and inform the process?

Join Wingspace for a roundtable discussion on the close collaboration between designers and technicians working in the field of projections. Panelists include David Bengali, Lacey Erb, Ido Levran, and Katherine Freer. Moderated by Jackson Cobb.

Monday, March 6th, 8:00pm-9:30pm EST via Zoom and Facebook Live
