Assistants are now ubiquitous in all aspects of theatre production, but every designer works with them differently. The role of assistants is an important and contentious part of current labor negotiations. Tyler Micoleau, lighting designer and member of the USA829 Off Broadway committee, guest-moderates a conversation about the designer-assistant relationship. Designers and assistants, union and non-union are welcome.
