Shivanna Sooknanan

Scenic Design / Costume Design

Shivanna is a multifaceted Scenic/ Production and Costume designer who works in a variety of design disciplines including theater, television, live events, experiential marketing, and store windows. Her work has been seen in New York City and regional theaters around the country.

Along with her own designs, she has assisted/ associated for designers such as Clint Ramos, Derek McLane, Wilson Chin, Dede Ayite, Riw Rakkulchon, Arnulfo Maldonado Kara Harmon and Valarie Therese Bart along with others.

She has designed and assisted/ associated at places like: Circle In the Square, Berkshire Theatre Group, Georgestreet Playhouse, Ogunquit Playhouse, Minetta Lane, Berkeley Rep amongst others.

Shivanna has designed and worked on many pop-up shops, store window display and events such as several movie premieres for clients like St Germain, Gin De Las Californias, Cerbeili, Harrods, Saks 5th Ave, Tiffany and Co., Hudson Bay and Co., Bergdorf Goodman, Beast Movie, Bros Movie and many others.

She has a B.F.A from Ithaca College.

Shivanna lives in NYC where she was born and raised and enjoys cooking, traveling and keeping her shop skills sharp when not designing.
